Why my first blog failed – Don’t do These Mistakes

I have not failed. I’ve just found 100 ways that won’t work.

First, clarify the meaning of failure

Is failure bad or good?

According to me if you learn from your past mistakes then failure is not bad.

What is the meaning of Blog failure according to you?

  1. Blog don’t generate any income
  2. Blog traffic less than 100 visitors per month
  3. Don’t find a good website theme
  4. Blog post writing fear
  5. Don’t know How to create Thumbnails post Images.
  6. Not capture visitor’s Email
  7. Not getting proper guidance about SEO & Digital Marketing
  8. Never apply Email marketing strategies
  9. Always run behind money instead of learning
  10. And so many

Now onward’s never say that my first blog badly failed instead say I just forget to apply Digital marketing, SEO and email marketing strategies on my first blog.

The main reason why every first Blog badly failed?

Lack of knowledge, improper guidance this is the main reason.

Hope, now you understand how we defined “first Blog failure.”

Blogging is not a one day paid course, it is austerity.

“Every failure is a step to success.”  That’s how I relate my experience with blogging.

My blunder mistake’s as follow

Mistake # 1. Focus only on money

I bought a domain name and thinking of my dreams soon I become very rich. Instead of learning more details about blogging I just focus on monetization.

In my first blog I just copy articles from Quora, medium etc. not aware that if someone complains about me Google panelized my domain name.

Learning point: Never copy articles from an external source instead learn How to write great piece of content.

Mistake # 2: Not collecting emails

As you see from above Pie Chart that most of niche blog revenue comes only from the email list. If you are not preparing your email list from day one then you losing money from your pocket.

Email’s newsletter is a very efficient way to build a strong relationship with your visitor’s. Also share your free stuff or knowledge that you still not published on your blog.

Learning point: Never underestimate the power of email list, if you have building email list regularly then your Blogging career is on right direction.

Mistake # 3:Not Building Community

Everyone Bloggers hates! If they not getting comments below every blog post.We want flood of comments on our blog post instead we get only spamers comments.

Did you research behind this logic, why this happening to me only ?

Well,

Your content doen’t engage reader’s ,you may spend 7 days restless night to write a great piece of content but that is not sufficient to create enegagement with your blog visitor’s.

Learning point: write articles for your audience not for yourself.

Mistake # 4: Not give all information free.

If you don’t have that art which convert your visitor’s into buyer’s then you should learn it. I know you will be astonishment but you have to accept this rule.

You don’t have to sell your product’s directly to your audience instead teach them not everything is free of cost available.

When I launched my first paid course none of my audience buy this course directly it totally broken from inside me.

Then I learn little bit Email marketing from skillshare , first I build relationship with my audience through email series then I recommended my paid course to my subscriber’s, out of 100 only 10 purchased my paid course.

If those guys not purchased my paid course, I still believe that email marketing is also online myth.

I got bunch of emails telling me that you should give your stuff free of cost.

Learning Point: Not give all stuff free to visitor’s

Mistake# 5: You taking blogging as Hobby not as online Business.

Example,

Think you want to start a Business in which first you have purchased office space then coloring the office walls , office name and logo , furniture’s after that you hire people for your staff.

But in case of blogging you want everything free of cost.

You start with free webhosting ,free website theme , copy paste the articles and still you want your blog must build an online empire.

I am using Siteground Premium hosting service since 2016.

Mistake# 6 : Not interested in learning instead earning money

Did you set monthly goal for learning about SEO, Email marketing ,Digital marketing, Article writing art, Affiliate marketing and many more stuff.

This portion is going boring for you because some of few not interested in learning.

When my first blog failed then I decided not to renew my domain name after certain time domain expired i.e http://www.pankajsihemar.com/ obviously it is expired now.

In 2017 -18 year i am unemployed But you know what I was doing when I don’t have any website or job, I was busy in making myself more skillful & set one year goal for learning not for earning even a single cent.

This was my past schedule for 2017-18

January to march = Learning Email marketing

March to August = Learning Digital marketing

August to October = Learning Social media Marketing

October to December = Content writing

I learn all these very complicated skills in just 72$.

How, we could not believe you.

As I mention above I learn every new skill from skillshare instead udemy,

Now all my one year effort in front of you guys through this blog.

Read: udemy vs Skillshare vs paid course, which one is best resource for learning ?

Learning Point: Invest some money on yourself not on weekly new flavors Fast Food.

Conclusion: It never late to overcome from your fear. What type of fear?, that I have to invest myself first. Money comes and go but learning is forever with you.

Blogging could be great platform for learning with earning but first you have to teach yourself after that you are able to teach your audience through your words or blog post. Tell me your blogging mistakes below,
